Egg in the Hole
Breakfast.
My favorite meal.
Is there anything better than eggs and toast? Not much.
Toast happens to be my favorite food. Ever.
I love food. But there is just something about the toasty buttery goodness that gets me every time. And I literally mean every time.
And eggs? Oh my goodness... There isn't a single way I don't like them. Hard boiled. Soft boiled. Poached. Over medium. They're like Pokeman... I've gotta have 'em all!
Egg in the hole happens to be one of my favorite things to eat. You can eat it for breakfast, a snack, lunch, dinner, really anytime you feel like it. Plus it takes a total of about 5 minutes.
Egg in the Hole
2 pieces wheat bread (or whatever is your favorite kind)
2 large eggs
2 Tbsp. butter
salt & pepper
Using a glass, cookie cutter, something about 2-inches wide and round, etc. cut a circle in the middle of each piece of bread.
Melt butter in large skillet over medium heat. Place slices of bread and rounds in the pan, allow to toast for about 1 minute.
Crack an egg into each of the holes, season with salt and pepper and cook for about 2 minutes or until golden brown.
Add more butter if your pan needs it. Flip everything in the pan, season with salt and pepper again (if desired). Cook for another 2 minutes if you want a runny yolk or slightly longer if you want a harder yolk.
Move to a plate and eat immediately and enjoy!
